How the virus spreads Dr. of Nova Specialty Hospital. According to Navneet Kaur, “When we sneeze or cough, hundreds of very fine droplets spread in the air. In such a situation, the virus can be spread by coming in contact with these microscopic droplets emanating from the breath of an infected person. It spreads throughout the body within one to four days. We call this the common cold. Common cold or viral then two to three days. I get better myself. But if it lasts for a long time, then severe cough, fever, thick mucus from the nose, mucus in the chest starts accumulating. Due to this problems of breathing, fever, pneumonia etc. When the virus enters the body through food, its effect can reach the intestines. Viruses, especially viral infections such as hepatitis or AIDS, can be spread to other persons by ingestion or sexual contact with body fluids such as blood, saliva, semen and other similar fluids.

Bird flu The avian influenza (H5N1) virus is popularly known as bird flu. It affects humans and birds more. Bird flu infection is spread through birds such as chicken, turkey and duck species. It enters the blood of the person after the bite of a mosquito infected with dengue virus. HIV: AIDS is called Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, which is caused by HIV. Due to this the natural immunity of human becomes weak. This virus goes on destroying the ability of humans to fight diseases. The function of the immune system in our body is to protect the body from infectious diseases, which are caused by bacteria and viruses. In this sense AIDS is a syndrome rather than a disease.
